Tea tree oil

 

It can help to make nail fungus disappear. Apply 1 – 2 drops of tea tree oil on nail twice a day after a shower can make your skin soft and nails free of fungus.

Olive oil

Olive oil penetrates the skin to soften cuticles and nails. It helps to repair any damage. It can moisturize and strengthens your nails. Soak your nails in a bowl of warm olive oil for 15 – 30 minutes. Massage olive oil into your cuticles and nails in small circular motions. This gives shine and protects your nails from chemicals. Apply two drops of olive oil using a clean cloth to nail buff, before buffing your nails.

Antifungal powder

Antifungal powder helps to absorb moisture and prevents fungus. You can also sprinkle this powder into your socks to avoid nail fungus.

 

Lemon juice

Lemon juice helps the nails to become firm, radiant and free of stains. You need to take 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice and mix them in a cup of warm water. Soak your nails in this mixture for about 4 – 5 minutes. Then take a clean cloth and dip a cotton ball in lemon juice. Massage the nail area for 2 minutes and then rinse the nails out thoroughly.

Biotin and vitamin

Add 300 micrograms of biotin, a B vitamin, 4 – 6 times a day with food. Add biotin into your diet, if your nails are brittle.

Right nail care product

Nail products often have harsh chemicals. Make sure that you use nail polish and any other nail products with mild chemicals in it. Remove your nail polish regularly as your nails need to get some breathing time too.

Rubber gloves 

Avoid using harsh chemicals and if in need protects your nails by having rubber gloves. Harsh chemicals can overexposure to water can often be the cause of your nails getting brittle. Wear gloves when doing any household chores.

Fatty acids

Try to get more essential fatty acids, if your nails are brittle. Fatty acids are rich in food like fatty fish and flaxseed oil.

Tips for nail care

  • Trim your nails when they are long. File them in one direction.
  • Soak your nails in warm water and pat it dry. This also helps to remove stains from nails.
  • Dip all fingernails into lukewarm mustard oil for about 8 – 10 minutes. Rub them slowly in a circular motion to make your nails strong.
  • Dip a cotton ball in fresh lemon juice and rinse them well.
  • Keep your nails wellness moisturizer. Select the moisturizer that has collagen and vitamin E.
  • Gently push back your cuticle. Don’t apply nail polish over cuticle.
  • Apply cuticle cream and almond oil before going to bed.
