5-Home-Remedies-for-Whiter-Teeth

Eat foods that are crunchy

Foods that are crunchy help remove many of the particles stuck on the teeth including sugars and chemicals that are the primary causes of cavities and stains on the teeth. An apple a day is known to keep a doctor away, but did you know that it can also keep the dentist away from you? Apples contain malic acid that is a product used in teeth whitening products in order to help dissolve stains. Vegetables such as carrots, broccoli, celery and cucumber are also natural whiteners of the teeth.

Rinse with water after eating

When you remove the food particles that stick to your teeth by rinsing your mouth, you can prevent the stains and cavities that damage the teeth. You should do this after every meal, so that you can prevent gum related diseases from affecting your teeth.

Use baking soda

Baking soda has the ability to further whiten your pearly whites. Since it has been used for centuries as a teeth whitening agent, it can also give your pearly whites some much needed shimmer. After applying baking soda to the teeth, rinse your mouth thoroughly to remove all the baking soda from it. You can also use some salt with baking soda to clean your teeth, since salt can also whiten your teeth. Only do this twice a week, failing which the baking soda may erode your enamel.

Cleanse your tongue

When you brush your tongue, it not only prevents bad breath, but it also protects your teeth from staining. Since your tongue tends to accumulate bacteria when you eat food, it also leads to the discoloration of the teeth. Use a tongue cleaner or a soft brush to cleanse your tongue and then, rinse it with water.

Use lemon

Lemon is a natural whitener and is also known to combat bacteria, and is said to have healing properties too. So, it can be used to whiten your pearly whites further. Squeeze out some juice from a piece of lemon and add it to some water. Apply this concoction to your stained teeth. Then, rinse your mouth with some water. Practicing this twice a day would remove the stains from your teeth and make them look white.

Use some holy basil

Holy basil is also considered a natural whitener. When you chew on some holy basil, it would not only whiten your teeth, but also remove the stains from your enamel and can also provide relief from variegated gum related problems. You could also use it in the form of some tooth powder. Pulverize some holy basil leaves and dab the powder on to your toothbrush before brushing your teeth. Apply this powder to your teeth.
